We make the highest quality cast branding irons available and provide the best service in the process!
Construction
Freeze Brands are cast from Red Brass. Faces are slightly rounded. We like to recommend a minimum character height of about 2 inches for horses or 3 inches for cattle. 1/4 face width is most typical for horses. The most common difficulty faced with freeze branding and hot branding is attempting to get too much detail (too many letters or symbols) in the area. Freeze branding CAN produce some outstanding and detailed images, but we recommend keeping it simple for consistency and for the best chance of good results on your very first brand. It is often easier to manufacture a complex iron than it is to get good results on the animal from a complex image.
Pricing
Custom freeze brands are currently priced at $125 for 4" and smaller sizes. Brands larger than 4" but within 5" are priced at $135. Steel handles are included with each branding iron. You pay nothing until you approve the computer-generated artwork (unless ordering through our website). Your brand will match the computer generated artwork in every way within a few thousandths of an inch!
Our Milled and Fire branding irons are custom priced based on size and design.

Order Process
The first step is to contact Pittsburg Foundry with your design. We can take a written description, a computer CAD file, a FAX copy of an image or you can even mail us a hand sketch. We have manufactured thousands and thousands of freeze branding irons from things like cell phone pictures of vinyl decals and pencil drawings on the back of a napkin. You can download our order form, sketch in your brand design, and send us an image of that form.
Second, we send you a computer generated CAD drawing via email as a .pdf file, FAX or even US mail if that is our only option. After you approve the computer generated art, we email you an invoice and get started on the brand. There are links on the invoice where you can pay securely online with major credit cards, PayPal or electronic check. You can always send a paper check in the mail if that is your preference. Your brand will be completed and shipped in about two weeks.

Pittsburg Foundry is a family owned and operated business. We offer high quality branding irons at a reasonable price. Located in North East Texas, our capabilities include state of the art CAD design software and a CNC router for the precision manufacture of patterns to match the exact representation of your brand or artwork. We also have a CNC Mill which allows us to create more detailed branding irons for use on wood and leather.
After you approve the artwork, the manufacturing process takes about two weeks and your brand is shipped!
You provide the initial art, we respond with final artwork from a CAD system for your review and approval. There will be an additional $25 per drawing fee if you would like multiple design
Upon approval of the drawing, your brand will be manufactured. You pay nothing until the final artwork is approved (unless ordered online) and the project is ready for manufacturing.
**We email drawings of all the brands with dimensions before they are manufactured, no refund will be issued for custom items that have been approved once they have been manufactured**
**If there is a problem with your order or something is missing we must be notified within 30 days of purchase. **
**If a stock item (number set, alphabet set, form, or symbol) needs to be returned, we must be notified within 30 days of purchase and a 10% restocking fee will be charged**
